Senior Agentic Software Engineer 12-month contract with potential for extension or full-time hire Hybrid position (3x onsite /week) in Charlotte, NC Compesnation: $90/hr-$95/hr Accepting applications until at least 10/23/2026 About the Role We're partnering with an innovative engineering team that's rethinking how software gets built through AI, automation, and Spec-Driven Development (SDD). This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who enjoys combining strong software engineering fundamentals with emerging AI technologies to build intelligent, scalable solutions. You'll help design agentic AI applications, establish engineering standards, and create reusable frameworks that accelerate software delivery while maintaining high quality, security, and governance standards. What You'll Do • Design and develop production-grade agentic AI solutions leveraging LLMs, AI agents, orchestration frameworks, and cloud-native architectures. • Build and deploy AI-enabled applications across AWS and/or Azure environments, including integrations with enterprise systems and business workflows. • Lead software delivery using Spec-Driven Development (SDD), translating business needs into structured, implementation-ready specifications. • Review and validate both human-written and AI-generated code, ensuring quality, security, maintainability, and architectural alignment. • Develop reusable frameworks, templates, accelerators, and engineering standards that improve team velocity and scalability. • Partner closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to provide technical feasibility assessments, estimates, and solution recommendations. • Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on coaching while helping advance AI-assisted development practices across the organization. What You Bring • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise software solutions in production environments. • Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, TypeScript, or Go. • Experience building cloud-native solutions in AWS and/or Azure, including CI/CD, APIs, containers, serverless technologies, and distributed systems. • Hands-on experience working with AI-assisted development tools, AI agents, LLM integrations, or agentic application architectures. • Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals including design patterns, testing strategies, refactoring, clean architecture, and code review best practices. • Experience collaborating directly with Product Owners and business stakeholders to shape requirements and delivery plans. • Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Nice to Have • Experience with AWS AgentCore, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, Strands, or similar agent orchestration frameworks. • Experience implementing MCP servers, tool integration ecosystems, or human-in-the-loop AI workflows. • Background creating internal developer platforms, reusable engineering frameworks, or enterprise AI standards. • Experience evaluating and implementing emerging AI technologies in enterprise environments.
