Charlotte logged 2,237 new AI-related job postings in the year to November 2025, at an average salary of $127,363, and cracked the national top ten for AI hiring. Those jobs are hard to find because "AI" is a keyword on thousands of postings that are not AI work. The Board sorts what is real into four Lanes.
What the four Lanes mean
Sell
Selling AI work to Charlotte companies that have never bought it before — the deals, the demos, the marketing around it.
Anyone who has spent years selling something and can explain it plainly.
Build
Making the thing work: the data, the models, the integrations, the shipping.
Developers and analysts, and people who taught themselves and have proof.
Maintain
Keeping it running after launch day — operations, monitoring, quality, support, uptime.
Ops, support leads, and shop-floor people who fix what breaks.
Govern
Keeping it legal, documented and out of trouble.
Compliance, legal, audit and risk — anyone who has written a policy.
Who writes it
The editor is Dylan, a tech recruiter who reads this market for a living. Wild Growth issues are drafted by AI agents under his and the founder's direction, and he decides what goes out.

Where listings come from
Posted listings are paid for by the employer: $99, live for 60 days. Found listings we pull out of the Charlotte market feed ourselves. Every listing on the Board says which it is, and we never blur the two. Reading the Board and Wild Growth is free and stays free.
What the Board is for, besides being read: it is where the jobs in each Wild Growth issue are chosen. The feed and the four Lanes do the sorting; a person decides what is worth an issue.
The feed runs every morning, and three rules decide what survives it. The job has to be in the Charlotte region — not "North Carolina", not remote-anywhere. AI has to be the work, not a word in the benefits paragraph: it must be in the job title or named repeatedly in the posting. And the salary is whatever the employer actually published, or nothing at all. We never estimate one. Listings come off the Board when they expire or disappear from the feed, because sending you to a dead application page is worse than showing you fewer jobs.
