Full Stack Python Developer
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Hybrid)
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking a self-sufficient backend software engineer to own and lead the development of a core FastAPI microservice integrated with an enterprise agentic AI platform. This position requires deep backend expertise and the ability to drive engineering workstreams independently from day one. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with AI engineers to design, build, and deploy production-ready integrations that power advanced workflow automation.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the complete development lifecycle of a critical FastAPI microservice, encompassing design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Build and expose secure, well-documented RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI, utilizing Pydantic to enforce data contracts.
• Develop supporting front-end components and user interfaces utilizing React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Integrate services with relational and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, SQL, and Redis for persistent storage and session management.
• Partner with AI engineering teams to incorporate LLM-driven features and agentic workflows into the microservice infrastructure.
• Manage and support Node.js or Apache-backed services within the broader microservices environment.
• Proactively identify technical debt, architectural gaps, and performance optimizations, ensuring scalability and security across all layers.
• Implement observability and monitoring tools to maintain operational health and system performance.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
Experience: Minimum of four years of professional full stack software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic. Strong frontend capabilities in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. Hands-on database experience with MongoDB, SQL databases, and Redis. Proven background in building and maintaining production-grade RESTful APIs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience integrating LangChain or LangGraph to build structured agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation patterns.
• Understanding of large language model behaviors, prompt engineering, and context management.
• Experience with LLM observability, tracing, and monitoring tools such as LangSmith.
• Background in financial services or enterprise scale engineering environments.
