AI Lead/Architect

Job Title: AI Lead/Architect Location: Charlotte, NC – Onsite – Hybrid – Need Local consultant Job Summary We are seeking an experienced AI Lead / Architect to drive the design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI/ML architecture, and cloud-based AI platforms, along with the ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready AI solutions. Key Responsibilities • Define and drive the architecture and technical strategy for enterprise AI and Generative AI solutions. • Design and implement AI/ML solutions using LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agent frameworks. • Lead the development of AI-powered applications, intelligent automation, and enterprise AI platforms. • Design scalable data pipelines and integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and cloud services. • Establish best practices for prompt engineering, model evaluation, AI observability, and performance optimization. • Implement responsible AI principles, including data privacy, security, governance, explainability, and risk management. • Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. • Lead architecture reviews, proof-of-concept development, technical design sessions, and production deployments. • Mentor engineers and establish standards for AI development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. • Ensure AI solutions meet enterprise requirements for scalability, reliability, compliance, and operational excellence. Required Technical Skills • Strong experience in AI/ML architecture and enterprise solution design. • Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, and RAG-based applications. • Experience with AI agent frameworks and agentic AI workflows. • Proficiency in Python and experience developing REST APIs and AI-enabled applications. • Experience with vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, and knowledge retrieval. • Knowledge of cloud AI services such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI. • Experience with MLOps/LLMOps, model deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and CI/CD pipelines. • Strong understanding of data architecture, API integration, security, and enterprise application integration. • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred. • Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI, data protection, and model risk management. Leadership and Architecture Requirements • Ability to define target-state AI architecture and technical roadmaps. • Experience leading engineering teams and delivering enterprise-scale AI solutions. • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical decision-making skills. • Ability to balance innovation with security, performance, cost, and maintainability. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated enterprise environments. • Experience implementing AI solutions with strict security, privacy, and compliance requirements. • Familiarity with enterprise knowledge management, intelligent document processing, and workflow automation. • Relevant cloud, AI, or architecture certifications are a plus.
