Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Consultant to join their Corporate Services team. This individual will support strategic procurement initiatives across Marketing and Public Affairs, with a primary focus on marketing technology (MarTech), advertising technology (AdTech), SaaS platforms, digital media, and technology-enabled services.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong experience in strategic procurement, technology purchasing, vendor management, and contract negotiation who enjoys working cross-functionally and helping organizations make smarter, more strategic technology investments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end procurement initiatives for complex and strategic technology and marketing vendor engagements.
• Develop procurement and category strategies across areas including MarTech, AdTech, SaaS platforms, digital media, creative services, communications, research, events, and sponsorships.
• Evaluate the organization's existing marketing technology portfolio to identify opportunities for cost savings, vendor consolidation, improved utilization, and increased value.
• Review upcoming contract renewals and work with business partners to determine whether to renew, renegotiate, consolidate, or pursue new vendors.
• Lead competitive sourcing events, including vendor research, RFPs, proposal evaluation, supplier selection, and award recommendations.
• Partner closely with Marketing, Technology, Legal, Risk, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and develop effective procurement strategies.
• Lead vendor negotiations involving pricing, service levels, renewal terms, usage-based pricing, professional services, and other commercial terms.
• Negotiate SaaS and technology agreements involving subscription, usage-based, consumption-based, and other modern pricing models.
• Support negotiations involving AI and generative AI technologies, including data usage, AI rights, model training, transparency, and responsible AI requirements.
• Review and negotiate contractual terms related to data privacy, security, data processing, data residency, subcontractors/subprocessors, and data portability.
• Develop recommendations that balance cost, business requirements, vendor capabilities, risk, and long-term value.
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure agreements support business and enterprise objectives.
• Stay informed on evolving technology, AI, procurement, and market trends to identify opportunities and potential risks.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in procurement, supply chain, business, finance, technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement, technology procurement, category management, or a related field.
• Strong experience negotiating contracts and commercial agreements with technology or SaaS vendors.
• Experience managing competitive sourcing events, RFPs, vendor evaluations, and supplier negotiations.
• Strong understanding of enterprise technology and SaaS purchasing models.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex vendor proposals and make recommendations.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including Legal, Technology, Risk, Finance, and business leadership.
Preferred Experience
• Experience with MarTech, AdTech, digital media, or marketing technology ecosystems.
• Experience with enterprise marketing platforms, customer data platforms, marketing analytics, personalization, content management, or marketing automation.
• Experience negotiating contracts involving AI or generative AI technology.
• Experience in a large, complex, highly regulated organization.
