Our challenge We are seeking an experienced Playwright Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks and quality engineering solutions for enterprise-scale applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, API testing, CI/CD integration, and modern test automation practices. This role requires hands-on experience in building scalable automation frameworks, improving test coverage, and ensuring high-quality software delivery in Agile environments. Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright. • Create and execute automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and end-to-end business workflows. • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to define testing strategies and quality standards. • Develop data-driven, reusable, and maintainable automation solutions following best practices. • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab. • Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and cross-browser testing activities. • Develop API automation tests using Playwright, REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools. • Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution. • Monitor automation execution, reporting, and test coverage metrics to improve software quality. • Support release validation, production testing, and continuous quality improvement initiatives Requirements: • 5+ years of Quality Engineering or Test Automation experience with at least 3+ years of hands-on Playwright automation experience. • Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for automation development. • Hands-on experience building automation frameworks using Playwright. • Experience with API testing and automation using REST APIs, Postman, or similar tools. • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile development practices. • Experience with version control systems such as Git and repository management tools. • Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. • Knowledge of test reporting, logging, and automation monitoring tools. • Strong experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and responsive application testing. • Experience working with databases and writing SQL queries for test validation. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred, but not required: • Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber. • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner. • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).…
