We're Hiring: .NET Architect (AI and AWS) Location: Fort Mill, SC (Onsite, 5 days per week) Engagement: Long-Term Contract or Full-Time Client: Fortune 500 Wealth Management Leader Want to architect enterprise .NET systems and decide how AI actually gets built into them, not as a demo but in production? We are hiring .NET Architects for one of the fastest-growing wealth management firms in the United States. This is a .NET architecture role first. Most of your time goes to designing and guiding enterprise .NET applications. The remainder splits between AI-enabled features and AWS cloud engineering. Indicative skill blend: .NET 60%, AI 20%, AWS 20% ABOUT THE CLIENT • Fortune 500, publicly traded wealth management and financial services firm • Among the fastest-growing wealth management firms in the U.S. • Supports 32,000+ financial advisors and approximately 1,100 financial institutions • More than $2.3 trillion in advisory and brokerage assets serviced and custodied • Serves approximately 8 million American investors • Major technology campus in Fort Mill, SC (Charlotte metro) • Active production investment in AI and cloud modernization, not a pilot program WHAT YOU WILL DO: CORE .NET ARCHITECTURE (THE MAJORITY OF THE ROLE) • Own architecture and technical design for enterprise .NET Core and .NET 8 applications • Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and data models across the platform • Set engineering standards and provide architectural governance to development teams • Review designs and code. This role stays hands-on. • Lead modernization of legacy .NET Framework applications • Present architecture decisions and trade-offs to engineering and business leadership WHAT YOU WILL DO: AI ENABLEMENT • Design how LLM capabilities are integrated into .NET application workflows • Define patterns for retrieval-augmented generation, including embeddings, vector search, retrieval tuning, and prompt design • Set guardrails, evaluation criteria, and cost controls for AI features • Advise stakeholders on what is realistically deliverable with current AI tooling WHAT YOU WILL DO: AWS • Define how .NET workloads are deployed and operated on AWS • Establish deployment automation and infrastructure-as-code standards • Apply security, resilience, and cost-optimization practices to cloud design WHAT YOU BRING • 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in an architecture or principal-level role • Strong C# and .NET Core / .NET 8. This is the core of the role. • Microservices and event-driven architecture, plus RESTful API design • SQL Server and relational data modeling • Production experience integrating LLM APIs (Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or OpenAI) • Practical retrieval-augmented generation experience: vector databases, embedding models, retrieval quality tuning • Working knowledge of core AWS services: Lambda, ECS or EKS, S3, API Gateway, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch • Infrastructure-as-code exposure (Terraform or CloudFormation / CDK) • Clear architecture documentation and senior stakeholder communication • Able to work onsite in Fort Mill, SC five days per week NICE TO HAVE • Wealth management, brokerage, or financial services domain background • Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or equivalent orchestration frameworks • AWS certification (Solutions Architect Associate or above) • Charlotte metro candidates BEFORE YOU APPLY • This role is fully onsite.
