We're Hiring: .NET Architect (AI and AWS)
Location: Fort Mill, SC (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Engagement: Long-Term Contract or Full-Time
Client: Fortune 500 Wealth Management Leader
Want to architect enterprise .NET systems and decide how AI actually gets built into them, not as a demo but in production?
We are hiring .NET Architects for one of the fastest-growing wealth management firms in the United States. This is a .NET architecture role first. Most of your time goes to designing and guiding enterprise .NET applications. The remainder splits between AI-enabled features and AWS cloud engineering.
Indicative skill blend: .NET 60%, AI 20%, AWS 20%
ABOUT THE CLIENT
• Fortune 500, publicly traded wealth management and financial services firm
• Among the fastest-growing wealth management firms in the U.S.
• Supports 32,000+ financial advisors and approximately 1,100 financial institutions
• More than $2.3 trillion in advisory and brokerage assets serviced and custodied
• Serves approximately 8 million American investors
• Major technology campus in Fort Mill, SC (Charlotte metro)
• Active production investment in AI and cloud modernization, not a pilot program
WHAT YOU WILL DO: CORE .NET ARCHITECTURE (THE MAJORITY OF THE ROLE)
• Own architecture and technical design for enterprise .NET Core and .NET 8 applications
• Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and data models across the platform
• Set engineering standards and provide architectural governance to development teams
• Review designs and code. This role stays hands-on.
• Lead modernization of legacy .NET Framework applications
• Present architecture decisions and trade-offs to engineering and business leadership
WHAT YOU WILL DO: AI ENABLEMENT
• Design how LLM capabilities are integrated into .NET application workflows
• Define patterns for retrieval-augmented generation, including embeddings, vector search, retrieval tuning, and prompt design
• Set guardrails, evaluation criteria, and cost controls for AI features
• Advise stakeholders on what is realistically deliverable with current AI tooling
WHAT YOU WILL DO: AWS
• Define how .NET workloads are deployed and operated on AWS
• Establish deployment automation and infrastructure-as-code standards
• Apply security, resilience, and cost-optimization practices to cloud design
WHAT YOU BRING
• 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in an architecture or principal-level role
• Strong C# and .NET Core / .NET 8. This is the core of the role.
• Microservices and event-driven architecture, plus RESTful API design
• SQL Server and relational data modeling
• Production experience integrating LLM APIs (Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or OpenAI)
• Practical retrieval-augmented generation experience: vector databases, embedding models, retrieval quality tuning
• Working knowledge of core AWS services: Lambda, ECS or EKS, S3, API Gateway, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch
• Infrastructure-as-code exposure (Terraform or CloudFormation / CDK)
• Clear architecture documentation and senior stakeholder communication
• Able to work onsite in Fort Mill, SC five days per week
NICE TO HAVE
• Wealth management, brokerage, or financial services domain background
• Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or equivalent orchestration frameworks
• AWS certification (Solutions Architect Associate or above)
• Charlotte metro candidates
BEFORE YOU APPLY
• This role is fully onsite. There is no remote or hybrid option.
• AI experience must be production work, not tutorials or side projects. Expect to walk through what you built, what broke, and how you fixed it.
• Available to start within two to three weeks
• Please apply only if you can independently defend every skill on your resume in a technical screen
