AI Developer / Agentic AI Engineer

Hiring: AI Developer / Agentic AI Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC – Onsite Duration: 6+ Months | Possible Extension Employment Type: Contract We are looking for an experienced AI Developer / Agentic AI Engineer to help build a production-grade Agentic AI platform for commercial banking customer service. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing LLM-powered agents, RAG solutions, tool/function calling, AI orchestration, and Python-based backend services, with a strong focus on security, observability, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop workflows. Key Responsibilities • Build and enhance LLM/Agent orchestration using planner/supervisor patterns, routing, tool-using agents, and guardrails. • Develop RAG solutions for policy, procedure, and knowledge grounding. • Build integrations with CRM, workflow engines, case management, and enterprise APIs. • Implement human-in-the-loop review, approval, escalation, and override workflows. • Develop evaluation frameworks including golden datasets, regression testing, scenario testing, and automated scoring. • Implement observability for latency, cost, tool failures, quality, drift, and escalation rates. • Support CI/CD, versioning, rollback, security, PII protection, and auditability. Required Skills 4+ years of software engineering experience Strong Python and backend/API development experience Hands-on experience with LLMs, Agentic AI, RAG, and tool/function calling Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or similar frameworks Experience with vector databases/search such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, OpenSearch/Elastic, or pgvector Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP Strong understanding of security, PII protection, least privilege, and audit logging Interested?
